The topic is pretty much self-explanatory. I just bought a 1997 Carrera coupe, I want to go boost but dont want to turbo the stock carrera motor as I dont know how well it would hold up. Anybody's information would greatly be appreciated. So, do I get a turbo motor? or just turbo mine? Help...

Well, you are going to need the complete turbo engine and exhaust. You will also need the turbo ECU. They are about $2k alone.

the computer is 2k? nice! So, if you were in my shoes... would you (a) drop the motor and find a turbo swap to put in it or (b) turbo the stock carrera motor?? Thanks...

c) sell the car and buy a turbo?
Wouldn't you have more in the car by building it and then wind up with a bastardized car that's down on resale value anyway? I'll bet a turbo motor ain't cheap.

Yah, this will boost your car 's performance and actually you can find some porsche performance parts (http://www.speedyperformanceparts.com/porsche-parts.html) anywhere at low price.

Yes, I would just sell the car and buy a 993 turbo. You are in for a lot of work otherwise.
