It its pretty embarassing but here I go...
Bought a nice used C4S (53 reg) with Porsche/Bose sound system + cd changer, I was very pleased to notice that there was a mp3 inline jack already installed that comes out from underneath the cd player (clearly aftermarket installation from previous owner)....

well, tried to press every button (fm/am/cdc/cds/menu/ etc etc) and so far I haven't been able to play any mp3 in it.

Tried also to connect the mp3 device first and then switch on (thought it would have automatically detected the source) but still no luck.
How can I select the system to play from the mp3 cable?
I'm starting to think it is a fake wire put there to drive me nuts!
Any help much appreciated as the dealer have no clue and there is no way to contact the previous owner.
