Default engine shut down

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Forum. Hope maybe someone can help with advice.

My 911 stalled on me yesterday while on the highway. Dash lights came on. I pulled it to shoulder of road...waited about 5 minutes...car started back up...I continued my drive.

Important, other related facts:

Car was being driven at a pretty consistent 4,000 RPMS for 20 minutes before engine shut down.
Car did same thing 2 weeks ago. After 1st incident, brought to mechanic who suggested DME relay replacement. Obviously a new DME did not solve problem.
Car has 72k miles.

I appreciate feedback on this issue. DO NOT want to have mechanic start "changing-out" parts in hope of finding problem. Would rather get opinions BEFORE.
