General Question
Hi everyone,
I just recently became a member on this forum and am interested in a few things about Porsche’s, where else could I get a direct answer about these vehicles then those who drive them. I am currently in the market for a 2000ish 911 or a newer boxer and am wondering about the general costs and up keep? I have been told to stay away from them because of their high expense cost and now with high gas prices, must also take that into consideration. I am currently located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and the closest dealership to get maintenance on the vehicle is Toronto. What are some numbers I should be expecting here?
Thanks for the help

RE: General Question
Hi raddy, I really don't like to direct anyone away from this site, but this link does have some good information about buying a use Boxster, although the write up is 2 years ago, but good information. I own a 06 Boxster S, only 7000 miles so far on this baby, so, don't get to see the high maintenance cost yet. But, do your research, cost to own a Porsche is not cheap, insurance, gas, lower mileage, tire replacement they all add up. High performance tire cost about $300 to $400 a piece, and information I gather from this forum is the tire will last about 15k miles +/- depends of how you drive your car. If your service dealer is very far away, that may be a problem for repair. But don't left all this scare you.
Nothing like a Porsche, you have to own it to feel it. The joy behind the wheel will make it all worth while. Good Luck
