Default new to porsche need advice

HI, a year ago, I bought a 2000 Boxster S to see if I liked ahving a third fun car. Noe I'm hooked bad and want more. I have been looking at 1997 993 Cabriolets and I am thinking about selling the Boxster to get one of these. I am confused over what the nest step for me would be. Should I get a newer Boxster S? Should I buy a newer 911 (about a 2002-3 is my budget, could get a newer if tool a small loan) should I get a 1997 (love the body style) 993? I have the 1997 993 might not blow away my Boxster S as I thought it would?? whats a good next step for a guy like me?

I would vote for the 911. A 2002 or newer 996 varaint is a better car than the 993 or 996 variant. The 993 is perferred by Porsche people because of the looks and the air cooled engine. it is proably a better investment. The 1999-2001 006 varaint of the 911 are very inexpensive now and very good cars. The 2002 has more hp and variable valve lift so it has more grunt.

My 1999 911 cab which I picked up new in 1998 has been perfect. These are great cars. If money is important to you pick up a 1999-2001 911. it is a great car and cheap for what it is.

If you are at a dealer drive a Boxter and the new 997 911. The 997 is even better than the 993 or 996 cars which I though were perfect.

Good luck to you.

Iagree completely with Adams. You will get far less car per dollar with a 993 because they are rare and 'collectors" items. 996s are great cars and you can find a real jewel at a good price if you look around.
