996 Air Condition Please Help Hot Outside

Default 996 Air Condition Please Help Hot Outside

I have a 1999 Porsche 996 and my airconditioning is blowing great but it is not cold. I checked the pressure 30 psiand it is fine so I do have freon. What could be causing this???

How can you tell if the compressor is kicking on????

Well, you look at your AC compressor and see if the center of the pulley is spinning.

Yes, the AC compressor is kicking on. Any other ideas???? Thank you.

Run the engine, with the compressor engaged, after a couple of minutes, touch the bigger rubber hose (returning) and than the smaller one (high pressure), you have to feel a bigdifference in temperature, if not, 1. low freon, 2. expansion valve is closed (prob. water in system) 3. compressor failing. 4. Your climate control does not work (that would be the most expensive repair). Try a good airconditioning service, to have your system checked out, before concidering changing the climate control. Good luck.
