Balance shaft rear seal

Balance shaft rear seal
on a 944 87 N/A, still out of the car.
If I can wiggel the the rear seal holder on my upper balance shaft, will it leak when the engine runs, I can move it up 1/16 of an inch and see it drop when I let go. Should this be tight.

RE: Balance shaft rear seal
Yes, there is an o ring in there. You have to pull the entire balance shaft cover to replace it though. You can take some copper RTV and seal it up though, i have been running a year with mine sealed up there. That cover can really puke the oil out once the seal is shot.
edit: oh and with the engine out of the car, you might as well fix the the right way. I did mine as a temperary seal until i finally get around to pulling the motor....who knows when i will find the time.....
