Battery dead, now hood wont open...
I have a 2000 Porsche 911 that I just bought in the fall.
Over the winter, the battery died, and now I cant get the hood open to charge the battery.
Its almost like the lever is locked.
Has anyone come across this?

You can jump start the car or attach a 12v source with jumper cables from the inside drivers side. Look at your owners manual and it will show you the location. Once you attach the source the hood will open.

You pull the outside kick panel off the driver's side and there are two rather obvious lugs where you attach jumpter cables amid the fusebox, etc., you see there, that you attach to to provide power to open the hood. Just be careful and you should be able to figure it out which, or probably if you google and search you can find some instructions somewhere, I suppose, but it is fairly easy to see them.

2000 does not have that jumper plug. You will need to pull the emergency release cable, or use a reverse charger through the cig. lighter. When the battery dies, the car locks the cable lock, so you will need to use the keyless to unlock the car, then pop the hood if using the reverse charger method. To get to the emergency release cable, you will need to remove the passenger side fender liner and fish the cable out through there.
