Default hot start issue

Have a 79 911 Targa (83,500 miles) - once driven and warmed up then turned off - after it sits for about 20 miniutes it is difficult to start. Once cooled starts right up. Local shop I've used only wants to troubleshoot by "book" and keep seeling me new parts and service. Any thoughts? Only is an issue once car is warmed up, then sits for 15-20 minutes.

Sounds like a bad fuel accumulator to me.

Doc - serious problem or relatively modest repair?

IIRC the acumulator is 100-150 bucks or so, and it is a very basic swap. I would change the fuel filter while you are in there as well since they sit right next to each other in the engine bay. IIRC all it takes is a 17mm and 19mm wrench to do both. The acumulator is the green looking canister on the left side of the engine bay wall.
