subaru motor swap into 911
I was wondering has anyone swap in a twin turbo 6cycl subaru engine into a 911? the engine setup is basically the same and can make the same amount of power as stock turbo. The motor is cheap and parts are cheaper than porsche.

And you'll also reduce the value of your 911!
Don't do it, nobody will want to buy it if you ever have to sell it....who would want a Porsche with a different engine that isn't any faster/better?

ahh, I guess I should have done my research. Has anyone ever heard of running a 2.7 head with the intake and exhaust from a 968 with a 2.5 block in a 944? I would just like to hear about some interchangable parts for the 944 if anyone knows of any.

Well, 1989 had the 2.7L engine, so the easiest thing to do would be put the 2.7L in the car, with the DME and injectors from that. I don't know if the 968 intake would bolt up or not. The gains would not be worth the money IMHO.

I could be mistaken but aren't subaru motors genrally H motors? Like the boxter engine.. I know in my impreza its an H 4. And my mom's forester was an H motor as well. I was unaware they made inline or V engines.
I know for impreza and wrx models it goes as follows.
They offered a base impreza with a 1.8l sohc H4
An L model with a 2.2l dohc H4
And the 2.5 rs model with a 2.5l dohc with a turbo (which also trickled over into the post 2000 wrx cars)
i think similat H motors are used in older VW and porsche vehicles. All it is, is a V motor with one bank of cylenders going horizoltally with the other bank opposite, rather then a V formation.
