Looking for Info on Porsche 904 -- Chassis #002
Hi everyone. My name is Rich Truesdell and I am an automotive photojournalist living in Southern California. I am doing some research on an early 904, chassis number 002 that I photographed several years ago for an upcoming feature. I"ve attached a photo of the car shot Saturday on Interstate 5 in Orange County. Additional studio images of the car can be viewed on my website automotivetraveler.com.
Besides getting a fix on previous owners -- it is believed that the car was owned by the Porsche factory until around 1970 -- I would like to get the name of the company that produced the body for this car. It has been reported that the bodies of the early prototype cars weren't molded by Heinkel.
Any information on this car, and its previous owners will be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
Richard Truesdell
