New Owner '74 Carrera
Hello from East by God Texas!
I just made the buy on a 1974 911 Carrera. I had ben trying to buy this particular car for over 10 years. I go to pick it up next week. The car has been sitting for probably close to 15 years. The car was running when parked. It was parked windows up and doors locked, key in ignition. There has to be at least 3" of Peacock poop all over the car. Looked to be inok condition, last I saw it. Almost 1 year ago.
The freindI purchased it from would not let the car go after my repeated offers that I considered fair. Whenever I wouldmake an offerhe would tell me that it had some rare type engine RSR or something of the sort. Thus rejecting my offers as to low. I guess he got tired of me asking and threw me a bone (I hope anyway)The car was purchased in Europe and shipped to the US in '83 or '84. He said the only thing that was wrong with the car when he locked the key's in it, was it had a skip between 2nd and 3rd gear. The Porsche House in Ft. Worth could not fix it. Does it sound like I got burned by my own persistance? I finally got gthe car for 1k.
What could be so rare about this car, that it took 10 years for him to give in to me? Thanks for you help in advance...
