Default 1974 Porsche 911 Engine Swap

Hey everyone out there... I am soon to own my first Porsche (cross my fingers hope it all works out) and it is a 1974 Porsche 911 with a 1996 Porsche 993 Conversion. Everything is in great shape, minus the engine. My question is is there a good swap or place I can get a rebuild kit or a rebuilt engine for thatmatter, that is a direct bolt on to the 1974 Porsche? I want to jump it to a turbocharged engine so keep that in mind. Please let me know, I am going from japanese to german and need a little help on the way. No more SR20DET's or 2JZ engine swaps for me... give me some good german lovin

I had this done to my 74Targa. I used a 3.2L 86Carrara motor (fast, but wish it was bigger now)I got from a wrecking yard. Was about $5K + core. You will also need the engine wiring harness and engine brain(another $500 or more). They usually don't include this in the price and you may have to ask specifically for it. The tach also had to be swapped out of the parts car. I had the install done professionally and it was about $2500 for this.

Also you will need a G50 transmission vs the stock 930 with a larger motor like that. The 930 will fit, It's just not spec'ed out for more then 250 HP. This involves moving to a hydraulic clutch and having the gearbox slightly modified. You must also have a custom rear sway bar with the center bent out to make room. The G50 is also 100lbs heavier.
