Default 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo? - History

I have an option to buy a 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo (via a friend through the web).

I'm unclear if it is really a turbo -- as the car does not have the flared rear tire wells (like the Type 930).

I'm confused by the history -- was the only Turbo 911 available in 1989 a type 930 -- or were there Turbos without the flared rear tire wells?

Photo attached.

Thanks.

my advice, get the VIN and contact a dealership...they will be able to check for certain if ti was a factory turbo car.

I bought a brand new 89 turbo in 1989.I believe that the fenders should all be flared.

If it's a turbo, the second digit in the VIN number should be an 8 according to Peter Zimmerman's book. Something like 68K00159. A dealer can tell you for sure.
