Default 2002 or 2003?

Hello, new here...
I want to buy a 911 Cab w/navigation is there much difference in the overall car for 2002 and the 2003.
I have come to the 2002 because I read there were substantial changes that year?
I'd appreciate any helpful advice.

I agree the 2002 911 Cab is a little better than the 1999-2001 car. The HP is increased from 296 to 325. More importantly they added elements to the valve timing so there is more torque at a deadstart. The difference is there not quite dramtic but very noticeable.

The CAB also has a glass window versus the plastic. The plastic on the first generation of 996 cars is not as bad as it would seem. I just traded in my 1999 911 CAB and after 9 years of ownership the rear window is still almost new. My car has been virtually perfect concerning relaibility.

I do not know the differences from 2002 to 2003. Porsche tends to make subtle changes that are evolutionary each model year. I love my Porsche and will enjoy my new one I pick up tomorrow

Good luck to you.

I looked at the 2003_996_Technik.pdf and it looks like all the engineers took a year off except the electronics eng's. Everything different on the model year is in a 8 inch square area of the dashboard. Most notable for me is that the radio buttons make sense. My 02 has the same radio but the buttons have stupid cryptic hieroglyphics like (down arrow) for function, "BD" for AM/FM, "dp" (actually 2 musical notes) for tone, and my favorite "TP" for traffic announcement. Like I even need this one. OK Rant's over. Back to model year difs. The nav system seems the most improved part of the car. If you are looking for a nav, I'd carefully check out the difs here. If the nav is of less than utmost concern, I'd go for lower mileage than a choice between these 2 model years.

Thanks for the imput, I think I will look for the 03.
After more research I will also probably buy without the nav but add it later. I am pleased with the look that I've seen other's do. I was worried about the chop shop look, but it appears the aftermarket can look great and be a better product.
