Default '75 Targa w/wide body and EFI???

My father-in-law has a '75 911 Targa with a wide body and whale-tail (looks like like the Turbe Coupe); EFI (so he claims -- easy enough to identify) in excellent exterior condition.

My first question is whether this is possible in stock form and second -- what are your opinions on street value given that the instrument panel is not functioning properly and the car runs like a 4-cyl chevy. The engine doesn't appear to burn oil and the exhaust smels a bit on the rich side.

The reason I'm inquiring is that the car looks great, but was wondering what I can expect to pay to get the instrument cluster to function properly and the engine tuned to its potential -- baring any other unforeseen circumstances.

Thank you for your insight.

If the car is stock, then it does not have an EFI system. Maybe it was added later on? Hard to say what the car is worth without knowing the health of the engine, ie compression and leakdown tests.
