996 911 tt clutch question
When I engage the clutch and put the car in gear the clutch makes a chattering noise that goes away when I take my foot off of the clutch and shift in gear. The car has 55000 miles on it and I recently added hydraulic fluid to the car. Could this chattering be the result of too much hydraulic fluid or is it possible the clutch is going out? thanks in advance...

Boy, hard to say without hearing it. Could be a pressure plate starting to go. Why did you add more hydraulic fluid? Did you have the car good and warmed up when you checked it? If you overfill it, the cars have an issue with blowing out the pentosin reservoir and causing an engine fire, so you need to make sure the level is where it needs to be when hot.

re: clutch question
Yea I made sure the car was warmed up when i added the hydraulic fluid. The car was really low on hydraulic fluid, however it seems to be keeping a good level currently. Now I'm not sure if the addition of the hydraulic fluid is contributing to the clutch chattering or if the clutch is an entirely different issue. I think it is best to have it checked out regardless, just want to know what I am getting myself into as far as cost, hopefully I am not replacing a clutch.
