Default 996 GT3 or Z06 for DE's- need HELP

Hey guys,
I am new to this thread and I would like your opinion. I currently own a 993 (absolutely beautyful car) with a Pss9 suspension, curve straightening kit, recaro seats and roll bar. I mainly DE the car and LOVE it however i am ready to step up. Now I am considering a GT3 or may venture onto the dark side and thinking about a Z06. Please keep in mind that this is just a DE car, not my cruiser so I am looking for a good track car with reasonable maintenance and reasonable maintenance costs. I truly love Porsche but when comparing these two cars with regards to performace and cost the Z06 shines. I understand you pay a premium for quality but I must admit I have been seeing a lot of the Z06's at track events and they are complete beasts on the track - and if they have some suspension work done to them (which is very inexpensive BTW) the cars are incredible.

What do you think - am I crazy?

I have a customer who club races a 944 Turbo, and also has a stock Z06. Both are track toys but he pulls faster lap times in the 944T (obviously has a very setup suspension that is not stock, but the hp is). For a track toy, you can't beat a GT3. The Z06 is a very respectable car on the track, but be ready to replace a lot of brake rotors if you decide to go that route. I've ridden with him in the z06, it is a fun car no doubt (the torque is pretty ridiculous, lol), but IMHO it doesn't compare to the GT3 on the track. With 996 GT3's down around 50k now for low mileage examples, it makes it really hard not to buy one.
