Default Any one put there Porsche on the Auto Train??

I'm headed to Florida for 4 weeks. I would like to take my Porsche. We have made plans to take the Auto Train from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL and back. Amtrack assured me that the Porsche would be no problem. The only requirement is that the car must have 4" of ground clearance. Any one out there ever put there Porsche on the Auto Traiin?? If so, How do they fasten the car down for the 17 hour trip?? The train ride will be much better than 18 additional hours of driving. Thanks in advance.

I would not worry about it. I have not taken my Porsche (when I owned one) but I've seen more than one on the auto train.
I know you value it and think it is special, but really, it is just a car. It has more than sufficient ground clearance and it is made to stand up the elements as well as all the other cars out there -- in truth it is not that different. It will do fine.
