Default Crunchin/Clunking noise to front

Hi All,

I have just purchased a 1984 911 and have noticed that there is a crunchin/clunking noice from the front pass side when turning the steering. It kinda sounds like a bearing but does not happen unless the steering is turned.

Any ideas.

Cheers

Just guessing, but it could be your front tires are rubbing slightly. If I turn the wheel in my car ('99' 996) super sharp they will rub a little.

Typically bearings that are going bad will ONLY make noise when you are turning the wheel. With the wheel in the air, grab at the 12 oclock position, and the 6 oclock position, and give it a wiggle. If the tires has play, then your bearings need attention.
