engine problems
My name is Anshul.
I have a 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera. Recently, I found out that engine bank #1
was out of time. To get this fixed is going to cost me atleast 4-6 grand for labor
and parts.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if you know what the best
solution for this problem would be.
Email me at asathyan108@gmail.com
Thanks,
Anshul

RE: engine problems
um...
they didn't diagnose it as anything like that.
we actually changed the battery yesterday and the check engine light
went away. however, after we drove it for a while, the light came back on.
the dealer diagnosed it as cylinder 1-3 misfires. but, no one is sure of the exact
costs and we don't want to give it for repari without an estimate.
if you know what to do, please let me know.
thanks.

RE: engine problems
You need a little more information to make a decision. Your first post said "engine bank #1
was out of time". Thus my question about the VariCam. Second post said "cylinder 1-3 misfires". These are 2 different things. You should ask for (and write down) the code numbers. After getting an accurate assessment of the codes, further diagnosis is needed to determine the reason for the problem. The diagnosis you had performed just showed you the problems, not the causes.
