Default Hard Top

I just purchased a used hard top for my 2002 996 and installed it. It appeared to seat well in the front but not in the rear. When the rear locking bolts were turned it did lower a bit, but it was not flush in the rear. There is about a 1/2 inch gap between the bottom of the hard top near the rear window and the body of the car just above the spoiler. Is this gap supposed to be there? It appears secure but it just struck me as a little funny looking. Is there any way to adjust it to make it flush?

I think it's supposed to be there.. you want the hardtop to rest on the interior bits, not on the paint.. if it were flush on the paint, you'd rub a line in the paint pretty quickly from road vibration, etc.. then you'd be annoyed when you took the hardtop off!
