RE: Hello and '03 996 Reliability Question
Consumer reports is the biggest POS to be on the newstand. I haven't seen them release an accurate report in many years.
This is a quote from one of their recent articles ranking the worst vehicles out there.....
".....scored well in reliability and for off-road performance, but neither of those factors is included in Consumer Reports' numerical score."
Oh really, so if you don't take RELIABILITY into consideration, what the hell are you ranking off of?

Doc--Don't disagree with you on thier car tests, but aren't the "reliability and repair" concerns from survey data? When you go on PCA's website, there is a plethora of complaints/issues on the 996, mostly dealings with the RMS. The only thing I can think of for Consumer Reports giving the 02 and 03a "black dot" for engine is the RMS. I filled out one of those surveysbefore and I think it's considered major engine repair when the cost exceeds $1K.
