Intermittent Miss/Hesitation
Hey: New to forum--hoping one of you smart guys might have seen or heard of this problem. Hard to even categorize it--I have a fairly lo-mileage 911 Carrerra (87k), recent tune up and in overall very good condition. In last few weeks, engine will intermittenly "miss"--it's like pulling your foot off the gas for a second or two, then getting back in the peddle. Car sort of jerks for a second, then presses on. Can happen at hi and lo speed, acceleration, cruising, air on or off, cool and warmer outside temps. Tach doesn't blip or change. Had my mechanic replace relay in fuel system, filter is new, and pump only 3 yrs old. He kept the car for two days, and found nothing--it didn't even act up while he had it, but happened to me on way home from his shop. Go figure. I'm still thinking ignition module or coil, but?? Any ideas??
Thanks!
Thanks!

RE: Intermittent Miss/Hesitation
Have you replaced the DME relay? It is found underneath the drivers seat, and can cause fuel cuts like you describe.
What did the tune up consist of? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor?
The AFM might be worth testing as well.
These types of problems are so hard to figure out when you have the car in front of you, let alone without seeing it, lol.

RE: Intermittent Miss/Hesitation
Thanks for response--have replaced the DME--not sure I'm familiar with AFM? Drove it home last night, and back to work this morning--no problems at all. Think I will have to resort to trial and error and hope I get lucky.
