Default My Porsche Won’t Start!

I have had an '84 911 Carerra for three years. It has run perfectly. I have not driven it much lately because I moved to a different state and my tags had expired. I drove it about a month ago and it ran perfectly. I went to get my tags and thought I would take it for a spin. It won't start! I charged the battery and it really wants to turn over. It sounds like it is just on the verge of starting but it doesn't. What could be causing this? Fuel filter? Something more serious? Help!! I keep seeing that Porsche ad about how the time you leave your Porsche in the garage...you never get that time back!

depending on the type of fuel injection it is possible for a filter to cause a no start condition, but it could also be caused by an ignition problem, best thing to do is to find out if you have any fuel going to the injectors, then if there is fuel go on from there.

I'd start by checking for spark 'cause it's an easier test to perform - you either have spark or you don't. If you do, then move onto fuel because while you might fuel at the injectors it might be of insufficient pressure to provide combustion - then the tests become a little more involved.

the ignition could cause the no start just pull off the cap and check the condition of all the contact points, but ill still bet its fuel related
