Default Oil change

Hi,

I want to do my own oil changes on the 2005 997. does anyone have a manual for this model I can't find one in the stores and don't want to pay megabucks either.

It is just a 8mm allen drain plug on the bottom of the pan, along with the filter next to the pan (canister with paper filter insert). Replace the o ring on the canister when you put on the new filter. 8.5 quarts of 0w-40 mobil 1 and you are good to go.

If you service now indicator is on though, you will have to take it to the dealer to have it reset with the PIWIS

You will also need a new 18x22 aluminum crush seal for the drain plug.

Go to your local porsche dealer to buy the filter and washers. Not sure on your year but you might need the oil canister remover tool. Should be less than 1 hour work. Good luck..
