Default Question about the 996 series

Hi,

I'm looking at a 1999, 996. It has 56,558 miles on it. It has an original warranty date of 06/09/1998.When did the 996 actually go into production?

Is there anything to look for w/the early model 996's,other than the rear seal?

Looking at the 911 Porsche prices, from the 993's to the 997's, the 1999 996's seem to show a drop in prices for that particular year. Is there anything wrong w/the 1999's, other than being a totally new design w/a water cooled engine?

What is considered the best naturalyaspirated (N/A) 996 model years?

Thx.
