Default VIN Numbers

Hi all I have given up on the 76 Targa the guy was very evavsive when pushed on a few questions. I am now looking at an 84 3.2 Carrera FSH and original books 110,000 miles and new clutch. No issues apart from he says a slight oil leak from the gearbox area hmmm. Anyway the VIN number is WP0ZZZ91ZES101118 and engine number 63E01790 which he tells me are matching. Ok so the engine and VIN number are both for an 84 Carrera but ,I have tried a few resources to check the VIN but they say it is not valid!! Can anyone help with this check??

Suggest you go on the Porsche USA Website and ask the question through the "Contact Us" facility. Regards Big Bob
