Clutch Repair

Clutch Repair
I bought a '84 928S with stick shift in mid 2005. Car has about 95k miles on it. Recently after starting the car, when I stepped on the clutch, the pedal went the the floor board and stayed there. Needless to say the car needs repair. I understand that this is a hydraulic clutch system where the hoses need frequent replacement.
I called the local Porsche dealer for service. They took my VIN and gave me an estimate of $6,000. This appears high for some hydraulic hoses and fluid. I have not yet had a chance to review what they priced.
I would like to know if others had a similar experience with the clutch and what the repair and its costs were.
I appreciate any input you may give.
Thanks.

RE: Clutch Repair
Did you get your clutch repaired? I just bought an 81 and I am doing a bunch of repairs myself. Brakes, fuel tank and just general maintenance. I think I also have to do a clutch replacement but I haven't driven the car enough to know yet.[sm=gobble.gif]
