RE: 1983 Porsche 944 (Turbo Q)
Even though you dont want to hear it, your probably better off selling your old 83 and getting a later model 944 s2 or turbo, otherwise you will end up sinking just as much into your old 944 as you would just selling the old one and buying a new one. IE: brakes, powersteering, longer wheel studs for deep dish rims, turbo, head, all gaskets, reuild kit, of course timing belt, clutch depending on how confident your feeling about yours.. Def. a limited slip rear end with turbo transaxle. all this could run you easily 8,000 to 12,000 dollars depending on who and what your willing to get. Believe me im in the same boat with my 83/944. im severly thinking about just putting in a higher displacement motor, ie: 968 swap or the loved and hated ls1 swap..
Hope i helped and didnt take the wind out of your porsche loving sail
Cheers,
Dave
