As to the Fuch wheels, you want the 16" Fuch's, not 15"ers. The 16's are lightweight and forged, the 15's are not.

I'm fairly certain that all factory-supplied Fuchs are forged, regardless of size. That being said, the 16" 951 Fuchs are lighter than the 16" 911 Fuchs by a small amount (due to the fact that the backside of the petals is a little more "carved out" to accomodate the larger calipers of the 951, in addition to the petals being moved slightly more outboard on the wheel).

Fuchs copies are generally cast. That in itself is not usually a bad thing, even though some people jump up and down when they hear "Fuchs copy" and start stating that they are more prone to cracking/breaking. Some regions have even bought into that wives tale and ruled that the copies cannot be used for DE and driving competitions. Truthfully, many cars have cast wheels and have no problems. One should be inspecting their wheels periodically anyway. If someone has a catastophic wheel failure for no reason (ie: didn't hit a curb or wall/rail/pothole), then they weren't inspecting their wheels. I mean, even the newest factory supplied Fuch is 16 years old now (I believe the last year they were offered on a 911 was 1989). Personally, I think it is a good idea to periodically inspect ANY aluminum wheel that is that old......

(sorry for the rambling............... )
