Default 84 944 with 88 DME

hi all,

hoping that someone can help me

i installed 88 DME with a late AFM and a promax chip in my 84 944.

I know that late models 944 have a idle stabilizer valve, and early models have an auxilary valve and A/C idle up.

i was wondering if i should install ISV since 88 DME has got pinouts for it. and what happens to auxilary valve and A/C idle up valve?
should I take them off?
also if I should take it off and replace it with ISV where does it fit?

Thanks in advance....

I learned about the auxilliary air regulator when I used to pinch the hose and the damn engine speed would drop. I also know this is always closed when the engine is at normal operating tempatures. If this fails cold idle is kind of rough. I have worked on 83's to 89 but I've never heard of the isv, can you tell me a little more about it?

hi,

on pelican its called Idle control Valve (here in south africa they call it ISV) its part number 930-606-161-00-M14 and it connects to pin 33 and 34 on DME(I think).

it replaces auxilary valve to control idle.DME actually controls the idle even when the A/C is on. DME receives signal that the A/C is on (pin 29) and adjusts the idle.

that is as far as I know.

I need to know from anyone that has a late 944(85.5+) where is the control valve positioned and if there is a A/C idle up valve on late 944 cars.on my car its located between air box and the brake master cylinder.

I can't upload picture if the valve but the part number is correct you can look it up.

Thanx for your help
