Default 944 Chip

Ok, I read somewhere that to save on inventory that the chip used in a 944 is the same for all 4 versions ie world, USA, california and Australia. I also read that they implemented a switch or jumper of sorts. If what I read is true does that mean that I could flip the switch or whatever between the different version, and if so how? Or have I just been fed some bull??

Ah, and does anybody have any recommendations for upgrade chips for the NA should I descide to go that route??

Tahnks so much

They have a jumper that they switched or added a plug to for the different versions on the DME wiring harness. There would be absolutely zero point of doing so though.

Thanks. That clears up that little rumor then.
