Default brake line

i have to replace two brake lines on my 83. the ones going to the rear driver side and the front passenger side. not the line that goes to the brake itself but the ones before that connect from the link to where it connects to the one that connects to the brakes. both having the screw ends on them. anyway i was wondering if the ends were universal with other brake lines? could i go to the auto parts store and take my old line and see if they have a line with matching ends that will screw into where i need them to and that i could just bend? ive looked online and only been able to find kits for around $80 - $100 and not really sure if they are the right ones. i really dont want to replace them all just the two i need....

I'm not to sure about this in the U.S., but here in the U.K. most independent automotive spares suppliers can make up a new brake pipe for any carcopyingthe old pattern pipe!

Why not phone around the local suppliers to you and ask?

Are you talking about the rubber brake line section, or the metal hardline section? Your post is a bit confusing. If it is the rubber line, then just replace ALL the lines at once, if one is shot, the others are not far behind. I would just put on S/S brake lines which run about 80-90 bucks for all 4.

the hard line, the back one that goes up and across everything to the driver side rear then the front one that goes to the pass side front both hard lines.... i was just hopen to pick up a new line i was just wondering about the screw ends on the lines if they where common with cars so maybe i could just go to the local auto store and get some lines that i could reroute myself..... or if anyone knows of a place online i get get some lines for not to much maybe thats what ill do and just replace the system.....

im cutting my back line out cause i guess you have to remove the axle to take it out and im not going to do that.... but if i get all new lines i guess stainless steel ones will the back one run the same or should i be able to bend it around everything?

You might want to just go buy some brake line and a flair kit, use the ends you have on the lines now and route the linesthe same asthey are without having to remove the rear carrier. take a look ...http://www.robrobinette.com/flare_brake_line.htm

3/16 is the size of the line correct? im just going to do what you said cause if 2 leaked there is a good chance other will too. so i might as well be ready to fix them.
