Default Brake questions...84 944

Hey guys&gals,
I've started on my brake job and now realize I should replace my rotors.Clarksgarage is really helping me with this project but I'm ready to remove hub/rotor getting ready for rotor changeout.Should I expect to replace wheel bearings, my feeling is they should be replaced due to how they tend to come apart when removing hub.Probably a silly question but I need the advice of someone who has done this repair.
Thanks.Mc.

The bearings aren't going to come apart, rather they will just seperate from the races. You should at minimum take the bearings out (leave the races pressed in the hub), clean them up good with brake clean, give them a visual inspection and repack them and reinstall. The inner bearing is held into the hub via a grease seal, but if you pop the bearing from the inside out, you should be able to reuse the seal.

Thanks Doc,
I was having nightmares about removing the hub and hearing what sounds like a slot-machine paying out about 50 dollars in quarters hitting the floor and scattering the farthest reaches of my garage[:@]............lol.
