Breaking system
Hey guys, I am about to get a V8 conversion kit in my 1984 944 and I was wondering what breaks would be the best for the new power. I am getting 18in Kahn RS-R rims if it matters. So I could use the advice. Also I am puting the IFC wide body kit on my car, has anyone used any items from them before or had the same kit put on? I would greatly appriciate the advice, thanks!

RE: Breaking system
With the V8 conversion you will lose your power brake booster. There is not enough physical room in the engine bay to retain it.
951 (944 turbo) front & rear calipers will be more than adequate. Keep in mind however that you will also need to change rotors, spindles, and possibly front struts with 1986 951 items. You would also lose the speedo since the early 944's use a speedo cable on the front left wheel unless you modify the 86 941 spindle.
If you do not plan to track the car, you can stay with the original brakes. rebuild the calipers, get some good pads, use new OEM rotors, and fill and bleed with ATE Super Blue fluid.
As to the Kahn RSR's, where are you getting them? I just sold a set of 4 with P Zero tires. They are not available in the States as of now and shipping from the UK where they are manufactured would be cost prohibitive.
