Fire, fixed everything. Now no start......HELP!!!
Hey everyone. I have a 1985/2 944. About a month ago after I got it back from my mechanic it caught on fire. Well, I fixed everything that needed to be fixed and replaced everything that needed to be replaced (and even a few things that didn't need to be replaced). Now, when I go to start the car it will turn over but it won't fire. I've found out that the problem is that I'm not getting fuel into the fuel but I don't know enough about these cars to know why. I need help. Thanks in advance

Yup, I am assuming the fire was fuel line related? If so, did you replace the engine wiring harness? My guess either the harness is bad, or the sensors are damaged from the fire. I've never had good luck testing the sensors, I have always just swapped in new ones, along with repairing the harness.
Use the BMW sensors, IIRC mid 80's 320 series used the same sensor with a longer wire as the only difference. The porsche sensors are about 150 each (there are 2). The BMW sensors are about 75 or so each.

Actually, we're not sure how the fire started. I'm pretty sure it wasn't anywhere near the sensors though. It was in the fuel rail area. We think it was due to oil on the engine. I'll check tomorrow on the sensors though.
