Default Headlight keeps blowing fuse!

Hi,

My left (passenger side) headlight keeps blowing the fuse but it happens in a certain sequence:

From the beggining:

1. I put a 7.5 amp fuse in the headlamp fuse holder. (no. 22)
2. I turn the side lights on (every thing is ok, everything works)
3. I turn the dipped headlights on (every thing is ok, everything works)
4. i turn the lights off and the headlights go away (i have checked the fuse at this point and it is ok)
5. I go to turn the lights on again and the headlights pop up but one light has blown the fuse.

I have tried changing the bulb but it hasn't made any difference.

Does anyone know why this should be happening?? It seems strange that it works once then gives up.....

Thanks.

I'm thinking there has to either be a short or a lifted ground somewhere in the electrical path. Sorry for the delay in responding, I am thinking about this one, and will let you know if I get any bright ideas (sorry, no pun intended! lol).

Regards,

hey buddy,

definitely you have some kind of short somewhere. you might want to check this as well...i have known this to happen...sometimes the power wire actually comes in contact with the ground wire and shorts the system out. check the wiring for the headlight system and see if that's the case.

ok thanks for your advice.

I can't get the headlight to come on at all now...as soon as i put the fuse in it blows. Sounds like a short again but how can i find were it is?? the wires just dissappear and i can't trace them. Anyone know the routing or a way of finsing the short?
