How about "Metallic Zweischicht Kristallgrun"

It is a really light almost silver green looks great with the light tan/brown interior. Never seen another this color Code is LM6Y on a 1985 944.....I wonder too how rare this color is. Seems all are RED or repainted RED, black, silver, white, some dark blue, some burgondy/dark red and then there was champagne too.

Yes, it does seem like a rare colour. I can't recall seeing a 944 (in the U.K.) in this colour before, but I think I have seen a 911 in it (or very similar).

I thought my colour was rare, so I wrote a letter to Porsche (G.B.), and they told me that only 8 were made.

Try writing to Porsche (U.S.) to see if they can confirm if it is a rare colour or not.

(It may just be a 911 or 928 colour though?)

Factory paint and from what I can gather it was a special order color.
Standard colors for 1985 were: A1 Black, D4 Pastel Beige, G1 Guards Red, K3 Copenhagen Blue, P1 Alpine White
Special Order Colors were: L1 Zermatt Silver Met, L5 Saphire Met, S2 Garnet Red Met, S5 Crystal Green Met, U8 Stone Grey Met, W9 Graphite Met, Y4 Kalahari Met, Z6 Mahogany Met

Then there were a host of interior colors to include: Leather/Leatherette Black, Brown, Burgondy, Light Grey--- Pinstripe black/white, brown/beige, burgondy/white, light grey/white---Pinstripe Flannel anthracite, brown, burgondy, light grey---Porsche Cloth black, brown, burgondy and light grey

Carpet is: black, brown, burgondy, light grey
Special Leather/Carpet Interiors: pearl white, buff skin brown, can can red, champagne, white

This tells me there could be many, many combinations! I am thinking my interior is the Special Buff Skin Brown because nothing else fits. The only thing brown is the dash and the door caps/headliner. The carpet and seats are very light saddle/tan.... I will see if Porsche NA has any info just because I am curious. If it is really rare, I am still going to drive it. That is what I bought it for.

the only address I found for Porsche NA was to submit a resume for career opportunities. I wrote them anyway to maybe get pointed in the right direction... Should not matter, Porsche is Porsche as they all were built together just imported to different countries. Do you recall the address you wrote to for this information? I do not know why there is not an owner's registry.... BMW has one...

Good on you, that's what they were built for!!!

Do you recall the address you wrote to for this information?
The address I used was a U.K. "customer relations dept" address that I sourced from a book with the service records / owners manual etc that came with the car called "A pocket guide to Porsche ownership" If you have a simular book with your service records, it may have the U.S. address in the back.

The only U.S. address in my service books is for the U.S. importer....
