Default Porsche Carrera 4 1990, help pls?

Hi all, I've just bought a great Carrera 4 year 1990 which came with no manuals to understand the dashboard. Anyway, there is an indicator next to the gas gauge that I have no idea what it is for, it seems to me that is related to oil level or oil temperature, the thing is that when I have the enginge running idle the gauge goes up to the the middle of the range but when I rev up the engine the indicator goes down to the "read/orange" zone, is this normal? what is this indicator for?...also I would really like to understand all indicators, is there a description/manual of each light indicator somewhere else than the original manual? or where can I get a copy of the manual?

I just want to make sure that I'm not running the car in the wrong conditions.

thanks for any help you may have.

It is the oil level. At hot idle, it will read the oil level (car must be warm). Once you rev the engine, or start driving, it is going to drop into the red, until you come to a stop, where it will read again.
