recharging air conditioning..

RE: recharging air conditioning..
You will need to find someplace that charges R12 still. R134a started in the early 90's, when it replaced R12, so those old systems are becoming few and far between. The problem is if your system is empty, they will have to jump the compressor clutch to get the freon moving. The low pressure switch will not activate if there is not enough freon in the system. Also, freon does not just disappear. If it is gone from the system, that means you have a leak somewhere and should fix that first. Get dye injected into the system and locate the leak. Hopefully it is just an o ring somewhere. Then get the system filled.
I would recommend taking it somewhere that is familiar with Porsche AC systems.
