Default trailing arms

I have an 85 NA with steel trailing arms. Whe I bought the car the drivers side rear bearings were bad, and the stub axel was torked to about 80 ft lbs. The trailing arm had just been replaced. I replaced the bearings and stub axel in driverside arm, and within 70 miles or so, I started hearing a click click click from the rear wheel. I tested and got some up and down play. I pulled it apart, replaced the trailing arm, the bearings, and the stub still looked good. Put it back together and within 8 miles I got the old click click click. Any Chance that the hub could be causing this? If not what is the next step?

Have you checked the condition of your CV axles yet? They will make a clicking sound as well. Also, what torque are you using on the stub axle?

Had a 300 FT pund tork wrench after it clicked at 300 pushed it about another 1/4 turn ( wrench broke). Checked Cvs but have not changed out, when I step on the break the clicking stops, it also relates to speed. the faster I go the faster the cliking.
