Default wont shift into gear

Hi all.
I have an 86 944 that has been running and driving great untill yesterday. On my way home I was on the freway for about a half an hour in 5th gear and everything was feeling just like always. Then I turned and went on a road that has lots of turns and I went to downshift into 3rd from 4th and it went into neutral just fine but when I went to go into 3rd it wouldnt go into gear untill I realy pushed it hard. I knew that somthing was wrong. There was no noise or anything ,it just wouldnt go into gear. I pulled over and pushed in the clutch and tried shifting gears and it shifted just fine into all gears so I took off. No slipping or anything then I wound it up to about 3000rpm and went to shift into the next gear and it wouldnt go into gear again. I tried pumping the clutch and then shifting and it didnt make any differance. While still coasting I just held the clutch in and let the rpms drop all the way down and then went to go into gear again and it went rite in, no problem so I just drove it the rest of the way home letting it slowly slip into gear when rpms went down. I took it out today and drove it again to realy test it out and same thing except today it makes a small clank when letting out the clutch after going into gear or when I am parked I put it into neutral and pushed the clutch in and let it out and I heard the clank. Still no slipping or anything just a small clank and hard going into gear while driving unless I leave the clutch in and let it wind all the way down and then it shifts. Anyone have any idea what this could be.At first I thought ,,Clutch but now I am wondering if its somthing to do with the linkage. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I love my Porsche. Thanks

My initial assumption is that the rubber center clutch disc is failing, so that is where I would start. If the clutch looks good, then I would suspect the synchros in the transaxle are going out. You might try draining the trans fluid and putting in fresh fluid and see if that helps 1st as it is the cheapest, easiest option to try.
