Default Car won't start

have a 1998 boxster that has behaved beautifully until just now. it doesn't want to start. over the past year, it would do this occassionally, but i would just "flip" the key around and the car would start. not this time. battery verified good - jump didn't help. headlights come on, dashboard lights light up - but no ignition - nothing at all. no clicking, no ticking, no sound at all. any ideas where i should start looking for the problem?

Default RE: Car won't start

In reply to the last correspondence i left, i have since found that my ecu was bad. they first told me my immobilizer was bad. but they were wrong. much to my financial schegrin. because their computer told them so. i got a used ecu off of e bay, for much less than they wanted at the dealership. porsche will send the dealership a test unit to make sure that yours is bad, before you invest in a new one. also if you get a used one, be sure you get the vin # off of the car it came off of. they can't use it without it. also your box will be either a 102 or 104. the last 3 numbers on your box. hope ive helped. thanks 1998 boxster.
