955 Cayenne Turbo transmission disengages randomly
Got an intermittent problem with the wife's '04 CTT. No off-roading at all. Engine seems to disengage from the transmission - randomly...on the highway or in the
driveway. Cannot replicate the failure, nor could my Independent Porsche repair shop. There are no warning messages before it fails. It's like the transmission suddenly disconnects, and immediately the Differential Locking Indicator warning light starts blinking <and> the "Warning Parking lock! Apply parking brake!" message appears on the dash. The motor keeps running...responds to the throttle, but the vehicle will not move in any gear after it coasts to an awkward (dangerous) stop off the road. Most times the gear shift locks, but sometimes am able to shift it into Park - which then locks into Park! What's weird is, these symptoms clear away after I restart. Checked for OBD2 (Bluedriver) error codes - ALL CLEAR. The mechanics could not replicate the problem, but cleared all the drain tubes. But the problem persists. Took it to another Porsche repair shop, but they have yet to isolate the failure - nor can they duplicate the problem (yet). Some suggestions are a faulty wiring harness under the seat, or a bad throttle body in the transmission.
Any experience with this issue guys? Thanks
