Default Cayenne S Oil Change - Need Advice

I'm new here, having just acquired a '04 Cayenne S.

Any suggestions regarding how to change the oil? I have an OEM filter and some good oil, but where are the drain and filter located?

This is not a joke - I'm just a rookie at this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know why I missed this, but for the future if anyone does a search on the procedure:

1. Remove the front 2 belly pans on the Cayenne. Held in place by 8mm, 10mm bolts (head size), and 4 phillips screws. Set aside. The front pan covers the front drain plug and the filter, and the rear pan covers the rear drain plug.

2. There are 2 drain plugs, a lower (towards the front of the engine pan) and an upper (towards the rear of the pan). They are 8mm "Torx Plus" bits (This is a fairly new bit, it looks like an Allen, but with convex sides). Remove to drain. The drain plugs use crush seals, so make sure to install new crush seals on the plugs.

3. Remove the filter, which is at the very front of the engine, can't miss it. Black canister, with a paper filter inside. OC128 is the Mahle filter number. Replace filter and rubber O ring on the canister.

4. 8.5-9 quarts of Mobil 1 0w-40 oil to fill. Put in 8.5, start engine, let run for a few minutes. Shut off, let oil drain back to the bottom of the engine for about 2 minutes. Check oil with dipstick with the engine off. Add as necessary.

5. Replace belly pans.

Hmmm.....let me do some digging on that. I have a PIWIS, so I do it through there. I am sure there is a manual reset procedure somewhere.....

edit: You can only reset the light through the PIWIS or PST2 unfortunetly. You will have to visit the dealer and have them reset it. Some are charging up to $150 to do so, though it should be free as it takes about 5 minutes. Depends on how cool your dealer is

Any pearl of wisdom in getting a cool dealer?
Where I am located, dealers are quite arrogant
and charge over $150/hr. Also, they do not
disclose their prices until you get there to
help keep their pricing high...

I bought a Service Information for my Cayenne!
Any recommendations on a good yet reasonable
priced triple square tool (10mm) for some bolts l
ike those holding the front seats to the floor. It
pays to learn thanks Doc!

FYI: Durametric.com sells a device that will reset the oil light, plus diagnose your vehicle as well. Price is around $250.00....very easy to use, and worth the investment. You can reset your oil light in minutes and not have to waste your time going to the dealer

Hello Porsche Doc,

Can you recommend any tool sets for oil change?
8mm, 10mm bolts (head size)

I saw somelisted at Sears after a recommendation.

Also, which tool or tool bit do you need to remove
the 2 front bolting bolts holding the front seat to frame.
I need to remove to replace the battery. Thank you!

I would just buy the recommended individual sizes from Sears. The most commonly used sizes are 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and an occasional 12mm when it comes to torx bits and allens.
