Handbrake issue
Hi guys,
Just got a 2003 Cayenne Turbo.
However, have one small issue. When you apply the handbrake a red exclamation mark appears within a red circle (!)
When you release the handbrake it stays on. However, if you reach under the handbrake pedal and pull it 2mm towards you the light goes out.
I THOUGHT the handbrake symbol as (P) and not (!). Can someone confirm this.
Also, if it is (!) it says in the manul to check the brake fluid - which I have done and that's on maximum.
Help please!!!

If it's anything like mercedes, there is a little plastic part that the pedal depresses when activated. Inside that part makes a contact for the light, but the contacts are very thin and after time, crack and sometimes stay making contact. The brake is not on but the contact switch is making connection. When you manually pull at the pedal you are separating the contact. It was about $60 for the mb part, and I was able to change it myself in able 20 minutes. Hope that helps
