Default Maintenance costs??

Hello, I am currently looking to get rid of my 2006 f150 for a new truck and I was very interested in the Porsche Cayenne S. The only concern I have is the maintenance. Someone told me that oil changes are needed to be done directly at the dealership and cost hundreds of dollars. Can someone confirm this for me since I am not to sure I trust this source. T.I.A

Welcome to the world of luxury automobiles. As someone told me once, you have to pay to play. Yes, maintenance will exceed your F150 several times over. There are other foreign service shops capable of changing the oil and reseting your computer...I believe it requires a special tool but this can be bought. And some owners do it themselves..so I hear. The dealership I use charges up to $400 to do this! But Ford also charges up to $200 for my GT! Go figure. Probablya littleto do with the dry sump, parts, synthetic oil, and lots to do with the "badge"!
Yes, it will be more to maintain than your truck. No doubt about it. And this is small potatoes compared to what Ferrari owners pay for parts and service!!

Another thing to consider...according to my dealer, the service interval for changing the oil recommended by Porsche for the Cayenne is up to 20K miles. The dealership I go to recommends 10K miles, and this is how often I change it.

oil changes usually cost over$100 but look for coupons from the dealership. I heard some dealerships give you 5 year maintence free deal that bmws have..

Hi I too have an F150 (2003 Centenary Harley Davidson Edition), which I am part exchanging at a good price for a Mercedes ML420 CDI. I'm planning to put the Brabus Chip on it which takes it up to 350bhp, + 650 ft/lbs torque.
Maintenance costs are always going to be higher than your Ford F150, and I believe in increased oil changing frequency if you are doing low mileage.
What ever you do dont buy a BMW. I have a pathological hatred of BMW's based on the poor road manners and lack of courtesy that this brand engenders inBMW drivers in the UK.

Big bob--that has been the consensus for most. BMW550sport is working hard to convert Porsche owners over to BMW. I think it's histerical!

I still think it's an ok family sedan. he would have better luck arguing his points on the mini van forum.

It is a very good for you if you have your own truck but also there are many things that you should do for your truck like you should maintain it or clean it regularly.
