porsche cayenne traction loss
Cayenne S with 19 inch wheel option lacks traction in first snow. Dangerous snow handling. Is the solution to install 18 inch wheels & all weather tires. Will that allow the car to be controlled in snow and related weather.

RE: porsche cayenne traction loss
I purposely purchased a 18" (2005 model) wheel for this purpose. Haven't tried it on the snow yet, thinking about bringing the car to the mountain this winter. Last year at the Mammoth, I saw BMW X5 skidding and sliding into accident and the other one could not clime a steep hill which the Jeep Cherokee had no problem with. I also read an article in the car and driver magazine about the Cayenne got stuck in the mud. Maybe I should save the embarrassment. Will give you feedback. Anyway, mine drove fabulous in the rain. Did you have the stiff ride problem? Please read my thread (stiff ride) posted in this section.
