My name is Ryan and we recently purchased a brand new 08 Cayman S and I am stumped...I got the car with 6mi on it and the clutch master cylinder is gone again....At 25mi the pedal went all the way to the floor and had to be pulled up by hand...towed to porsche told it was a bast master cylinder..Now at 60mi only 35mi later again pedal all the way to the floor..Again bad master cylinder...Porsche salseman says yes we know there is problem with the 08 S Cayman manual trans...Are they kidding me.. Why sell it if they know there is a problem.IF there really is a problem...Are the pulling my leg. What gives .. Please Help any info is greatly appreciated..

Ryan,
1) As sad as it sounds, your clutch symptom is a relatively frequent Cayman S issue (does not happen on the 5-speed Cayman models). My car had it too.
2) However, it is typically NOT caused by the Master Cylinder, but rather the Slave Cylinder. So until your Porsche dealer fixes the actual cause of the problem, it will recur again and again.
3) Even though there are many reported cases - and I consider it a safety issue -Porsche has so far not reacted with a recall.
For further info go to this site: http://www.caymanclub.net/cayman-com...-registry.html

Greetings, Rainer

I believe that your local Porsche dealer has received the info from the home office informing the dealership to replace your defective slave cylinder for a new one at no cost to you.
